RC-Infra Oy is a family-owned company from Ulvila, Finland, specialising in road and pavement investigations. We work in Finland and abroad.

Why RC-Infra
Our managing director has worked in the road sector since 1984, and RC-Infra Oy was founded in 2010. We carry out the measurements, interpret the data and write the reports ourselves, and we protect our work zones with our own TMA vehicles.
Ground penetrating radar
Two GPR survey vehicles and terrain equipment
Our two survey vehicles are equipped with GSSI SIR-30 GPR systems, 1 GHz and 2 GHz air-coupled antennas and a 400 MHz ground-coupled antenna. For terrain and water surveys we use a GSSI SIR-4000 system, positioned with RTK-corrected GPS.
The data is processed and interpreted with Road Doctor software, and the results are tied to the project chainage or the road register.
Air void content of new asphalt concrete (AC) and stone mastic asphalt (SMA) pavements is calibrated with cores. Our measurement activity is approved by PANK ry (Päällystealan neuvottelukunta), the Finnish pavement sector’s advisory body.
Friction and coring
Skiddometer BV11 and core drilling
Friction is measured with a Moventor Skiddometer BV11 trailer with a water wetting system. The measurement is continuous at a fixed slip and runs at traffic speed, giving the friction coefficient along the whole section on roads, streets and runways.
Pavement and stabilisation cores are drilled with five electric core drills and diamond core bits, 30–300 mm in diameter. Road structure samples are taken with an RC-1400 sampling rig, and we can also take samples from railway embankments.
